CT is a quick, painless diagnostic exam that uses computerized X-Ray technology. CT Scans allow radiologists to see the location, nature and extent of many different diseases, organs or abnormalities.

Our Putnam Radiology Group office in Palatka has a multi-slice helical CT scanner that generates data and detail quickly and accurately. Its technological capability provides clear, high quality images, which lead to earlier, more accurate diagnoses.

Preparing for your CT
- A representative will call you prior to your appointment to provide and review specific instructions.
- Arrive for your appointment 15 minutes early to complete registration.
- If your CT Study requires an injection of contrast material to enhance the visibility of certain tissues and blood vessels, you may momentarily experience a warm, flushed sensation or metallic taste in your mouth.

Preparing for your Pelvis or Abdominal/Pelvis CT
- Pick up your prep solution at Putnam Radiology Group 2 days prior to appointment.
- If your appointment is scheduled before 12:00 p.m.
- Drink one entire bottle at bedtime the night before your exam.
- Do not have anything to eat or drink after you have consumed the prep solution.
- Drink one entire bottle one hour before your exam.
- If your appointment is scheduled after 12:00 p.m.
- Drink one entire bottle four hours before your exam.
- Do not have anything to eat or drink after you have consumed the prep solution.
- Drink one entire bottle one hour before your exam.
Note: Shake prep solution well before consuming. Some patients have noted that prep solution tastes better after it is refrigerated.
